Turkish business ready to replace Western companies in Russia

ANTALYA, Mar 15 (PRIME) -- Turkey is ready to invest in different spheres of business in Russia after Western companies decided to leave amid sanctions, one of the members of the Turkish Exporters Assembly told PRIME late on Monday.

The decision of foreign companies to leave Russia creates opportunities for Turkey. “For instance, IKEA decided to leave Russia. In this regard, the Turkish producers of home furniture, which are the main suppliers of IKEA at the same time, could leave the void that the company’s withdrawal created in the sector,” the person who wished their name to be left undisclosed said.

The Turkish food and leather producers also have great potential in Russia, and Turkish companies from many sectors of the industry are waiting for the situation to become clearer in order to start investing into Russia, the person said.
